Eleven-year-old Hugo Ballard, his four-year-old sister Gertie, and their parents are journeying across the Atlantic in a zeppelin named the "Hindenburg." However, as they go in for a landing, a blast rocks the ship and Hugo is separated from his family and struggles to survive.
