Digby, Professor Dotty Drabble's robotic sidekick, urges her to enter some of her many inventions in a contest sponsored by the National Science Museum, and uses his computer to look up the histories of a number of items, such as the ballpoint pen, velcro, and windshield wipers, for which the professor is erroneously claiming credit.
