For Abigail's birthday, she asks for a pet. After doing some research she decides a tree is the perfect pet. She buys a dogwood tree from the nursery and names it Fido. Abigail and Fido are always together, and she even takes him on walks in her wagon. When Fido grows too big to be inside, Abigail plants him outside where he makes new friends and proves to everyone that a tree is the perfect pet.
