This mostly wordless graphic novel traces the adventures of a grandchild who visits their beloved Lao Lao. During their time together, the grandmother and child visit the beach where they collect seashells, play in the water, and interact with crabs. While in her home, the child notices a pink feather in a flamingo cup and asks the grandmother about it. From there a new story emerges of another young child who finds an egg on the beach that hatches into a flamingo chick. The child becomes the chick's caretaker and the grandchild becomes entranced by the story which takes them on a journey of wonder and imaginative discovery.
