When a world where every town has a monster and attacks are actually eagerly awaited, the town of Stoker-on-Avon remains embarrassed by its monster, Rayburn, who hasn't attacked in almost two years. When a local doctor and his young companion resolve to lift Rayburn out of his funk, they find their task made all the more urgent when a truly deadly monster decides to attack.
