Tâpwê is looking forward to spending a week with his cousins on the other side of the Cree reserve, but before he leaves, Kokhom, his grandma, gives him a Magic Hat with bluebirds and grass snakes that come to life but warns him to beware of tricksters. He makes a new friend named Wâpos, but when Wâpos leads him into trouble, he remembers his grandmother's words of warning. Tâpwê learns an important lesson about being true to himself and realizes what he needs to do to get rid of the trickster.
