Recounts the adventure of two men--Nepali Tenzing Norgay and New Zealander Edmund Hillary--who both had dreams of climbing Mount Everest, each having tried once and failed. The pair meet on another attempt in 1953, eventually leaving their initial traveling group when the others decide to abandon the climb, and go on to make the final ascent together.
