In 1940 a girl from Amsterdam by the name of Anne Frank was asked if she would like to have an American pen pal. She said yes. This is how Anne's name and address was drawn by a girl named Juanita Wagner from Danville, Iowa. Not only did these two girls begin a pen pal friendship but their sisters Margot and Betty began to write to each other as well. In one letter from Anne she writes she cannot find Danville on an Iowa map but does find Burlington. Young authors Hallie Darnall and Haley Villont of Burlington have done a wonderful job writing and illustrating this amazing book for readers of all ages.
